Region and club rules make participation in tryouts for any club a multi-step process. Please follow each of the steps below to make sure you are ready come tryouts.

1. Determine your age group - Make sure you fully understand which age group is the appropriate one. See the tryouts information page for all the details on age groups.
2. Determine when tryouts are - Use your age group and the tryouts schedule to determine where and when you should show up. We can't select you for a team if you aren't there or show up for the wrong tryouts.
3. Register with USAV/CHRVA - Please follow the directions in the next section to register with USAV/CHRVA. This step is required by all USAV clubs operating in the region. If you are attending the tryouts for multiple clubs, you only need to register with USAV/CHRVA once as that membership will be good for all tryouts.
4. Register with MVSA - All athletes can register using our tryout registration form linked below. The cost to participate in tryouts is $50 and must be paid at registration time. Please see the relevant section below for more details on payment and refunds.
5. Take a deep breath and do your best - We understand that tryouts can be a stressful time for players AND parents. Take a deep breath and enjoy the experience. We hope things work out for you. 

Per region rules, you must be a current USAV/CHRVA member in order to participate in any club volleyball tryout. A USAV/CHRVA "Junior Tryout - 10 days" limited membership is available and recommended for tryouts. Athletes selected for a team will then be required to upgrade their membership to a full USAV/CHRVA membership. If you buy the "tryout" membership, be sure to select a membership start date that causes your 10-day window to include all of the tryouts you plan to attend.

PLEASE NOTE: Players who turn 18 at any point during the current USAV/CHRVA membership year (9/1/23-8/31/24) MUST purchase an 18U specific membership and complete all SafeSport requirements.

Please remember to bring a copy of your membership card with you to tryouts! It can be digital or printed.

Payment will be made via SportsEngine at registration time. You should receive an email confirmation following successful payment.

A full refund of the registration cost (minus fees) may be requested up until a week prior to your tryout. After that, refund requests will not be granted.
