Two MVSA Teams Earn Bids to USAV Junior Nationals

Congratulations to Wahoo! 13 on winning a National Division bid to the USAV Junior Nationals at the CHRVA 13s Open Regionals.

MVSA's 13 Wahoo! team took first place going undefeated in the CHRVA 13 Regional Bid Championships on March 24th.  The win earned Wahoo! a trip to the USAV Girls Junior National Championships in Indianapolis. The team will be competing in the National Division on July 1st through the 4th. Congratulations Wahoo!

 

Congratulations also to Vortex 12 on winning a National Division bid to the USAV Junior Nationals at the CHRVA 12s Open Regionals.

MVSA's 12 Vortex won the CHRVA 12 Regional Bid Championships in convincing fashion. They went undefeated with an amazing point ratio of 2.81 for the entire tournament. The team will be competing in the National Division on June 29th through July 2nd. Go Vortex!

MVSA Dynamite - 14s Club Regional Champions
(1st Place Gold Division)

MVSA Dynamite started the day as the #1 seed in the tournament. They played strong in the 1st match defeating Premier Pulse (25-15, 25-18). Match 2 was a bit of a challenge as the #8 seed Metro 14 North split with Dynamite (23-25, 25-17). In match 3 Dynamite bounced back and defeated Shenandoah Surge (25-18, 25-10) to secure a spot in the Gold A playoffs. In the semifinals Dynamite defeated the #7 seed in the tournament, Waco Cyclones, in straight sets (25-22, 25-17). In Finals play, Dynamite was again to play Metro 14 North. After splitting sets 1 and 2, Dynamite came from a 10-13 deficit in the deciding set to defeat Metro 14 North (25-16, 21-25, 15-13). Congratulations Dynamite!

 

MVSA Sparks - 17s Club Regional Finalists

MVSA Sparks entered Regionals as the #4 seed. After a rough start with NOVA Phoenix (split 1 win each), the Sparks went on to closely win the next two sets against Metro 17 North and two close sets against their developing rival DYS Thunder (# 1 seed). The competition was extreme on this net, but the Sparks were able to progress to the Gold A Bracket. Here they met their toughest competition yet and defeated Potomac Elite in 3 sets with the final set ending in the score of 17-15. The Sparks fought hard in the finals but was unable to hold off the #2 seed ECEVBC Tsunami and lost in 2 sets resulting in a 2nd place overall finish. Great Job Sparks!

MVSA Dynamite - AAU Happy Volley 14 Open Champions

MVSA Dynamite started the tournament as the #2 seed. They played strong on Day 1 going undefeated in pool play and the crossover match. On Day 2 Dynamite again won their pool securing themselves a spot in the Gold playoffs. The next crossover match was a bit of a challenge as the #1 seed Relentless 14 Gold won (25-15, 21-25, 15-13). In the semifinals Dynamite defeated the #3 seed in the tournament, DIGS 14 Red, in straight sets (25-8, 25-19). In Finals play, Dynamite was again to play Relentless 14 Gold. This time Dynamite was ready and played the best match of their season defeating Relentless in straight sets (25-21, 25-15). What a strong finish to a very successful season. Congratulations Dynamite on winning a National tournament!

MVSA Dynamite started Day 1 as the #20 seed of 44 teams in 14 National. They played strong throughout Day 1, never dropping a set. On Day 2 Dynamite won their Crossover match which earned them a spot in the Gold Bracket playoffs. In the 1st elimination round, the quarterfinals and the semifinals Dynamite remained undefeated. In the finals, Dynamite played against the #3 seed, Loudoun Elite. Both teams were undefeated going into the finals so Dynamite knew it would be a tough match. After a hard-fought battle to 3 sets Dynamite finished 2nd in the finals. Great job Dynamite!

MVSA Dynamite started day 1 as the #1 seed (of 28 teams) in the tournament. They played strong throughout day 1 and day 2, never dropping a set, which earned them a spot in the Gold Division playoffs. In the semifinals, Dynamite defeated the #5 seed, Loudoun Elite, in three sets. In the finals, Dynamite played against the #2 seed, ARVC 14 Orange. Both teams were undefeated going into the finals so Dynamite knew it would be a tough match. After a hard-fought battle Dynamite finished 2nd in the finals. Way to go Dynamite! 

 

Congratulations to Starz 15s on their 3rd place finish in the 15 Club Division

MVSA Starz fought tough all weekend long, losing only one match on their first day of competition, and winning all three matches on the 2nd day, to end up in the Gold Division playoffs. In the playoffs, the Starz played tough as nails and ended up finishing in 3rd place of 32 teams. Nice job Starz!
